Under the direction of Dr. Karin Gramminger M.D. (General Pratitioner and Ayurveda therapist for 15 years), Dr. Marikka Kneissl (Naturopathic doctor, Philologist and Ayurveda therapist for 10 years) and Komala Lyra (Ayurveda Therapist since 1980), the Ayurveda-House offers an intensive education over 36 days in order to be awarded

Manual Ayurveda Therapist M.A.T.

diploma. The diploma and the MAT Course is subdivided into 6 modules and end with a final examination. The practical parts can be booked individually. Certificates will be awarde for each module passed successfully.

  • Identification of medical condition through Darshana, Sparshana, Preshna, Pulsdiagnose, Prakruti, Vikruti, Organpulse, Tonguediagnosis, Naildiagnosis, Eyediagnosis a.o. diagnostic measures
  • Ayurvedic Therapy (Chikitsa), the 8 essential Components of ayurvedic Healing
  • Different measures for detoxification - Shamana und Shodana
  • Rasayana Therapy, invigoration of Organs, Improvement of the Immunesystem


Modul M3: Ayurvedic dietetics

Part I: Introduction to ayurvedic Cooking and nutritional consulting
according to Vasant Lad with Dr. Karin Gramminger and Dr. Marikka Kneissl (3 days)

September 19th - 21th, 2007

  • The different tastes - (Rasa)
  • introducing ayurvedic spices
  • preparation of Ghee and Chutney
  • Ayurvedic meals in Theory and practise according to the native Constitution and the momentary condition


Part II: Ayurvedic dietetics in theory and practice
for 4 days with Dr. Karin Gramminger and Dr. Marikka Kneissl

September 26th - 28th,  2008

  • nutritional consulting within your Practice
  • possible application of the spices in different disorders, e.g. with rheumatic ailments and recurring pain
  • Eating disorders, adiposity and skinnyness and measures for correction
  • A wholesome diet according to seasons, time of day and period of life
  • groups of food and alimentary incompatibilities with their appropriate antidotes
  • Alimentation during cleansing therapies
  • Alimentation during convalescence, after Chemotherapy a.o.


Modul M4: Ayurvedic Yoga massage
Metabolism activating Floormassage (4 days each) with Dr. Karin Gramminger (MD)
Part I: January 17th - 20th 2008

  • basic principles of ayurvedic Yogamassage
  • Use of the different Oil-preparations and the Calamus-powder with respect to constitution and the current disorder
  • Meaning of Purvakarma and Snehan as preparation for Panchakarma
  • Practical use: complete bodymassage incl. back, legs, arms, stomache, head, face including some stretches from Yoga


Part II: February 7th - 10th 2008

  • Preparation of the Therapist towards the client, prearrangement fo the facilities
  • Preparation of the client
  • Significance of the breath on therapist and client especially during the stretches
  • Significance of Meditation, Yoga and relaxation execises for the Therapist
  • Application of massage and stretches in problematic cases and medical Indication: such as Arm-Shoulder-Syndrome, Tennis-Ellbow, cervical -, thoracic - und lumbar spine problems, oedemas, cellulite, stiff neck, paraplegia....

Massage and therpeutic concepts like Purvakarma
7 days with Komala Lyra

Start part I: November 25th - Decemberl 1st 2008

  • Abhyanga (whole bodymassage) in different positions
  • Snehan, the concept of oils and fats, inner and outer oleation
  • Massagetechnique in Theory und Practice (Mardana und Samvahana
  • Netra-Tarpana, Karna Purana, Kati-Basti, Shirobasti, local oleation
  • Shiroabhyanga, Garshana (rawsilk glove-Massage), Udvartana (Peelings)



Modul M6: Manual Ayurvedic Therapy part II
Marma and Nadi in Theory and Practice (6 days) with Komala Lyra

Part II: in 2009

  • Marma Chikitsa - Marma treatments and specific methods
  • Formulations, practical use of herbalized oils
  • Marmani Pathi (resinated herbal bandages) und Lepa\'s (herbal packs)
  • Special stretches (Adangals) in e.g. disorders of the musculoskeletal system
  • Working with the Kizhi /Pinda Sveda (hot herbal pack)
  • Posture and Breath of the Therapist during the Massage
  • How to cope with occurrences during the session
  • Legal basics, formation of practice, changes in the current Massage practice and Marketing strategies
